Lesion Dermatology

Professional dermatology-led assessments for moles and other skin concerns.

Alongside our lesion removal or reduction service, there are times when we encounter a lesion that requires further assessment before we can proceed with treatment. In such cases, we may need to rely on a client’s GP for a confirmed diagnosis. Unfortunately, this process can involve long wait times, and even after a GP appointment, a definitive diagnosis may not always be provided.

To help streamline this process, we offer our external Map My Mole service—allowing us to assess, track, and monitor moles or blemishes. This service provides a detailed skin analysis, helping to identify any areas of concern and ensuring that any removal is carried out safely and appropriately at our clinic. For many, accessing private dermatology services can be costly, with fees ranging from £250 to £300 per appointment. Additionally, securing a GP appointment can be time-consuming, often leading to a referral to a specialist, which may result in weeks of waiting - an anxious and frustrating experience for many.

By offering a mole and lesion screening service in our clinic through Map My Mole, we align with the British Association of Dermatologists’ tele dermatology guidelines. Each image is reviewed by leading dermatology experts in the UK, who generate quick detailed reports explaining the nature of the lesion, and in many cases within 48 hours. This ensures that clients receive clear, expert-informed information on whether we can proceed with safe removal. If a mole or blemish is found to be potentially concerning, our dermatologist will provide a report to the clinic, which will then be shared with the client. This enables them to inform their GP promptly, potentially speeding up any necessary referral for further medical evaluation

Only available Tuesdays – Fridays with clinical director

How Map My Mole Works

Using advanced imaging technology, we capture detailed images of the mole or lesion. These images are then securely reviewed by leading UK dermatology specialists in line with British Association of Dermatologists tele dermatology guidelines.

You will receive a detailed report outlining:

• Assessment of the mole or lesion
• Any areas of concern
• Recommendations for removal or monitoring
• Guidance on whether further medical referral is required

This ensures that any lesion removal performed at our clinic is carried out safely and with expert dermatological guidance.

Why Choose Mole Dermatology Assessment

Private dermatology consultations can often cost between £250 and £300 per appointment, while GP referrals can take several weeks. Our Map My Mole service offers a faster, more accessible alternative, helping reduce uncertainty and provide reassurance sooner.

If a lesion is identified as potentially concerning, a detailed report will be provided. This can be shared with your GP, helping to support faster referral and further medical evaluation if required.

Please note:

• This fee is for assessment and report only
• Lesion removal is priced separately
• Removal pricing is confirmed following consultation
• Any unknown lesions require GP confirmation or Map My Mole diagnosis prior to treatment

Full pricing details for removal can be found on our Advanced Lesion Removal page.
